Preconference Dinner

The pre-conference dinner will be held at Mangia Restaurant in Stuyvesant Plaza Albany, NY. Folks can begin to meet at the bar at 5:30; we will be seated at 6:00. Attendees will pay for their own dinners; Mangia has agreed to provide separate checks.

Panel Discussion
"Paving the Way: Collaborative Instructional Programs and the High School to College Transition"  

This panel will feature two sets of college/university and high school librarians speaking about joint programs for their students.  Barbara Norelli, Skidmore College and Sandy Berger, Schuylerville Jr.- Sr. High School will be one set of panelists and Wendy Bousfield, Syracuse University and Matt Phillips, Jamesville/Dewitt High School will be the other.  The panel will be moderated by Abby Kasowitz-Scheer of Syracuse University.

“Information Literacy and the Freshman Year Living Learning Program: Integration and Applications“

Trudi Jacobson and Prof. Dr. Michele Forte from University at Albany's "Project Renaissance"

An instructor in the University at Albany's freshman year living learning program (Project Renaissance) and the library's coordinator of instruction will describe the role of information literacy instruction in this program. We??? will explore characteristics of today's students and the impact these characteristics have on teaching them. In addition, a creative, cumulative assignment that calls upon students' information literacy skills will be explored.

Parking: LaSalle lot, P7 on the College of Saint Rose Campus Map

Traveling east (towards downtown Albany) on Western, turn left at the traffic light for pedestrians just before the big Saint Rose sign to enter the LaSalle parking lot. Security will not be checking for stickers on the day of the conference, so you may park in any unrestricted lot or space. But the LaSalle lot will definitely have plenty of spaces free.
